    About the Role

    Alden Kinsley is seeking an experienced Virginia litigation attorney to own commercial disputes from initial assessment and negotiation through litigation and trial when appropriate. Counsel is retained to lead assigned client matters, exercise independent strategic judgment, communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel, and remain available for in-person hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and other proceedings in Virginia. Richmond and Central Virginia and Northern Virginia are priority coverage markets, and qualified Virginia lawyers elsewhere in the Commonwealth will be considered. No book of business is required.

    What We're Looking For

    Active Virginia Bar membership in good standing
    Substantial commercial litigation and dispute-resolution experience
    Demonstrated ability to assess matters, set strategy, negotiate, manage discovery and motion practice, and try cases when appropriate
    Availability to appear in person for hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and other proceedings in Virginia
    Ability to own assigned client matters and communicate clearly with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and the Alden Kinsley team
    Sound independent judgment, precise drafting, and disciplined verification of legal research and AI-assisted work
    Current professional liability insurance, or ability to obtain required coverage before the first engagement
    Reliable performance in a distributed, remote-first environment

    Compensation

    $175–$200 per hour, depending on experience and the engagement. Work is offered on an engagement-by-engagement independent contractor basis.
